The Degree Programme
The three-year Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Computer Science (Degree Class L-31, Ministerial Decree 47/2013) lasts three years and includes:
- 18 examinations;
- an English-language assessment;
- a 300-hour internship at a company or research institution operating in the field of computer science;
- a final examination consisting of the presentation and discussion of the Bachelor’s degree project.
Students may also enrol as part-time students. This option is particularly useful for working students and, more generally, for students who cannot commit to studying full-time. Further details are provided in the regulations for part-time students.
Attendance is not compulsory. Nevertheless, students are strongly encouraged to participate fully in all educational activities, including:
- lectures;
- computer and language laboratory activities;
- seminars;
- thematic study days and meetings with companies;
- guided individual learning activities delivered through the e-learning platform;
- participation as an “internal associate” in the Computer Science Research Laboratories of the Department of Science and Technology.
To reduce the risk of students withdrawing after the first year, prospective students must understand, before enrolling, the level of individual commitment required to successfully complete the Computer Science programme and graduate within the expected timeframe.
